Up next
See your meetings, open tasks and suggested record updates and tasks in one page, for you or your whole team.
Up next is your day in one page: the meetings coming up, the tasks that are due, and the record updates and tasks Lightfield suggests from your email and meetings. Open Up next at the top of the left sidebar. When you open Lightfield, it returns to the page you last viewed, or to Up next if there isn’t one.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”Up next is on every plan, for every role. Viewers don’t see the Create button or suggestions to review.
What Up next shows
Section titled “What Up next shows”The page opens with today’s date, then shows these sections from top to bottom:
- Suggestions to review: a banner such as 3 record updates to review, and Suggested tasks
- Meetings
- Tasks
Choose whose work you see
Section titled “Choose whose work you see”Two tabs at the top choose whose work you see:
- Just me (the default): meetings you attend and tasks assigned to you. A meeting counts as yours when any address on your connected accounts, or the email you sign in with, is an attendee.
- My team: every meeting and open task in the workspace that you can see.
Each tab keeps its own time ranges and task grouping. Up next remembers your tab and filters in this browser.
Meetings
Section titled “Meetings”Meetings lists meetings by day. Use the time range menu on the right of the section to pick Today (the default), Next 2d or Next 7d. Click a meeting to open it. See Meetings.
Tasks lists open tasks, meaning tasks whose status is Todo or In progress. Done and canceled tasks don’t appear.
Use the time range menu on the right of the section to pick Today (the default), Next 2d, Next 7d or All open. Every range includes overdue tasks, grouped under Overdue, so nothing slips. Only All open shows tasks due more than a week out and tasks under No due date.
Tasks are grouped by due date by default. Use the controls button next to the time range to group or sort them another way, such as by account, opportunity, status or assignee. See Tasks.
Review suggestions
Section titled “Review suggestions”Lightfield suggests record updates and tasks from your email and meetings. They wait at the top of Up next for you to approve or dismiss. See Tasks and Data model for how fields suggest updates.
Drafts from automations and sequences wait in For review in the left sidebar, not on Up next. See For review.
Create a record
Section titled “Create a record”Click Create at the top right and choose Account, Opportunity, Contact, Task or Note.
Ask the agent about your day
Section titled “Ask the agent about your day”Up next has a chat box. Questions you ask there start from the meetings and tasks you’re looking at, for the tab and time ranges you picked. For example: “Which of today’s meetings are with open opportunities?” See What the agent can do.
Search
Section titled “Search”Press Cmd+K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows, or click the search icon at the top of the left sidebar, next to your profile menu. Start typing to find:
- accounts, contacts, opportunities, members, meetings, notes, tasks and lists
- dashboards, if your plan includes them
- custom object records, if your workspace has custom objects
Under Navigate to, the same box jumps to pages such as New chat, Settings, Automations or Dashboards (the last two when your plan includes them). Hold Cmd (or Ctrl) while you choose a result to open it in a new tab and keep the search open.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”A meeting is missing
Section titled “A meeting is missing”- You aren’t an attendee on any of your addresses. On Just me, a meeting shows only if one of your connected addresses or the address you sign in with is on the invite. Switch to My team.
- It’s outside the time range. Pick Next 7d.
- It never synced. See Mail and Calendar troubleshooting.
A task is missing
Section titled “A task is missing”- It’s due later, or has no due date. Pick All open.
- It’s assigned to someone else. On Just me, only tasks assigned to you show. Switch to My team.
- It’s done or canceled. Up next shows only Todo and In progress tasks. Find it under Tasks in the left sidebar.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Can I make My team the default? Select My team. Up next remembers your selection in this browser. Your first visit in another browser starts on Just me.
Why do overdue tasks show when I picked Today? Every time range includes overdue tasks so they stay in front of you. They’re grouped under Overdue at the top of Tasks.
Does Up next show emails? No. Up next shows meetings, tasks, and suggested record updates and tasks. Emails live on the account, contact and opportunity they belong to.
Can I search emails with Cmd+K? No. Search finds records, members, meetings, notes, tasks, lists and dashboards. To find an email, open the contact or account it belongs to, or ask the agent in chat.
