For review
Approve, edit or dismiss drafts, suggested record updates and tasks waiting for your decision.
Available on Pro, Growth and Enterprise
For review is where you approve drafts from automations and sequences, plus suggested record updates and tasks. Review each item, edit it if needed, then approve or dismiss it.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”For review is on every plan that includes automations: Pro, Growth and Enterprise. Automations are in open beta.
Owners, admins and members see For review in the left sidebar; Viewers do not. Email sequence drafts need Sequences, which are on the same plans. LinkedIn sequence drafts require multichannel sequences, on Growth and Enterprise.
Earlier plans can differ. Check your workspace’s available features.
What waits in For review
Section titled “What waits in For review”Each message draft shows what you need to decide on it:
- the draft itself, labeled Email draft, LinkedIn message draft or LinkedIn invite draft
- why it was produced
- the account, opportunity or contact it’s about
- a link back to the automation run or sequence enrollment that created it
Automations leave email drafts. Sequences leave email drafts and, when the plan includes multichannel sequences, LinkedIn drafts.
Suggested record updates and tasks also appear in For review. They can also appear on the record and on Up next. Approving a suggested update applies it; approving a suggested task creates the task. Dismissing either leaves the record unchanged.
Each draft goes to specific people, not to everyone. See Who reviews a draft.
Approve or dismiss a draft
Section titled “Approve or dismiss a draft”Approving an automation email sends it, and it can’t be unsent. Dismissing a sequence draft pauses that contact’s enrollment until you resume it.
- Click For review in the left sidebar.
- Open an item. In an email conversation, the proposed email carries a Draft label so you can tell it apart from emails already sent.
- Edit the draft if you need to, such as the body or the recipients. Your edits are saved on the item and used when you approve it.
- Click Approve or Dismiss.
What each action does:
| Draft from | Approve | Dismiss |
|---|---|---|
| An automation | Sends the email | Discards the draft; nothing is sent |
| A sequence | Records your decision; the message sends in the sequence’s send window and pacing | Discards the draft and pauses that contact’s enrollment |
Only one reviewer needs to act. Once someone approves or dismisses a draft, it leaves For review for everyone. If the same email is sent or discarded another way, such as directly from the record, the draft leaves For review on its own.
Review drafts in chat
Section titled “Review drafts in chat”Ask the agent in chat to find, edit, approve or dismiss your items, for example “What’s waiting in For review from the renewal automation?” It sees only what you’re allowed to see.
The agent lists your items as cards with Approve all and Dismiss all buttons. The approve button shows the count, such as Approve all 5, and asks you to confirm because it can’t be undone.
If an automation keeps producing drafts that aren’t useful, open a draft’s run and ask the agent to adjust the automation. See Automations.
Improve recurring automation drafts
Section titled “Improve recurring automation drafts”If you keep making the same edit, change the automation that writes the draft:
- Follow the item’s link to its automation run.
- Read the writing step’s input and instructions.
- Click Review with agent, or open the automation’s chat, and describe the problem. For example: “Use the contact’s first name, not the account name, and keep the email under 120 words.”
- Test the change and click Publish changes.
Keep reviewing customer-facing drafts until the results are consistent. To send without review, ask the agent to change the automation and approve the email-sending permission.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”I can’t approve an email draft
Section titled “I can’t approve an email draft”The draft has no sending account, or the mailbox isn’t yours.
- If the draft shows This draft has no sending account, so it can’t be approved yet. Pick one in the draft’s From field below, then approve., pick an account in the draft’s From field, then click Approve.
- If the sending mailbox belongs to someone else, only that person can send the email. See Who reviews a draft.
An item says “This item has already been reviewed.”
Section titled “An item says “This item has already been reviewed.””Another reviewer approved or dismissed it first. Nothing else is needed from you.

Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Where do I approve emails an automation drafted? In For review in the left sidebar. Open the item, edit it if needed, then click Approve to send it.
Does approving a sequence draft send it right away? No. Approving records your decision, and the message sends in the sequence’s send window and pacing.
Do I have to approve every item one by one? No. Ask the agent in chat to show your items, then use Approve all or Dismiss all on the card.
Can I undo a dismissed sequence draft? Partly. The draft is gone, but you can resume the paused enrollment, and the sequence creates a new draft. See Sequences.
