Display settings
Arrange record fields, add field conditions and manage sidebar visibility.
Display settings control how fields appear on record pages and whether an object shows in the left sidebar. They apply to everyone in the workspace, for standard and custom objects alike.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”The Display tab is on every plan. The Conditions tab is on Enterprise, the same current plan as formula fields. Only owners and admins change either.
To open them, go to Settings → Data model, choose the object, and open Display or Conditions.
Admins can also ask the agent to reorder or group an object’s fields, or to add conditions. It shows the change in a card, and nothing changes until you click Save for display order or Create for conditions.
Earlier plans can differ. Check your workspace’s available features.
Show or hide an object in the sidebar
Section titled “Show or hide an object in the sidebar”On the Display tab, use Sidebar menu visibility to keep an object out of the left sidebar, for example a custom object that holds signals people rarely open.
Hiding an object doesn’t delete it or limit access to its records. People still reach them through search, saved links or direct URLs.
Change the field order
Section titled “Change the field order”Under Display order, drag fields into the order you want on record pages. Each change saves when you drop the field, and Display changes saved. confirms it.
Fields are split into two groups:
- Always shown: fields that appear straight away in the record details.
- Collapsed by default: fields tucked under See more.
Drag fields between the groups to choose what’s visible at a glance. At least three fields stay in Always shown. Objects with fewer than three fields show a single list.
New fields go to the end of the order, under Collapsed by default when the object uses both groups, until an admin moves them.
To put fields back in their original order, click Restore defaults. It resets the order only, not sidebar visibility.
Group fields into sections
Section titled “Group fields into sections”- Click Create section and name it, for example “Company details”.
- Drag fields into the section.
You can rename a section, or choose Delete section and keep fields to remove the heading without losing its fields. An object can have up to 50 sections.
Show fields only when they apply
Section titled “Show fields only when they apply”On plans without Conditions, put rarely used fields in a section under Collapsed by default so they stay out of the way. Conditions are on Enterprise.
Use the Conditions tab to show a field only when another property has a certain value, for example Churn reason only when Stage is Closed lost.
- Open the Conditions tab and click New condition.
- Choose the controlling property, the condition (such as is, is not, is empty, is greater than or contains) and the value.
- Choose the dependent fields to show when the condition is met.
The fields now appear on a record only when the condition is met. If a field has more than one condition, all of them must be met. Lightfield blocks conditions that would depend on each other in a loop, and marks a condition Inactive if its property or value is no longer available, so you can pick another or delete it.
Troubleshooting
