A feature included in my plan is missing
Check your workspace, plan, role and connection before troubleshooting a missing feature or disabled control.
A missing button can reflect your workspace’s features, your role, a connection requirement or an availability problem. Check the actual requirement before changing plans.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”Anyone can use this checklist. Owners and admins can inspect workspace plan information in Settings → Billing and manage members in Settings → Members. Some personal connections must be managed by their owner.
Check what is blocking the action
Section titled “Check what is blocking the action”- Confirm you are in the intended workspace. A feature available in one workspace may not be included in another.
- Open the feature’s Help article and read Who can use it, including any separate requirement beside the task. Creating a custom object does not grant formula fields, and email sequences do not automatically include LinkedIn steps.
- If you are an owner or admin, check the workspace’s plan in Settings → Billing. Otherwise, ask an owner or admin to check it. Workspaces on earlier plans can retain different features; the current public plan comparison alone does not establish your workspace’s access.
- Ask an owner or admin to check your role in Settings → Members, or check it there if you have access. A Viewer can read and ask questions but cannot edit records. An owner or admin must change the role when edit access is appropriate.
- Read the disabled control’s message or tooltip. Check any required mailbox, provider connection or sender health before retrying.
If the feature should be available and the control is still missing, ask the agent to inspect the available workspace access and the specific action. Refreshing can reload the page, but it does not fix an entitlement mismatch.
Keep related capabilities separate
Section titled “Keep related capabilities separate”| Available action | Additional action with its own requirements |
|---|---|
| Public-web research in chat | Built-in people search with structured prospecting filters |
| Ordinary custom fields | Formula fields and field conditions |
| A one-off report in chat | Saved dashboards or scheduled reports |
| Email sequences | LinkedIn steps |
| One connected mailbox | Multiple connected accounts |
| Record editing | Custom record permissions or a specific visibility requirement |
A skill saves instructions; it does not grant access to an unavailable feature or action. Ask the agent for an alternative that serves the same goal with the features you have.
Resolve an access mismatch
Section titled “Resolve an access mismatch”Give the agent the feature and action, what you expected, and the message or control you see. Include when it last worked. It can check available workspace facts and narrow down what is blocking the action.
If those checks establish that Lightfield staff must correct access or verify a contract-specific arrangement, email support@lightfield.app with the workspace and the confirmed mismatch.
Do not include passwords, API keys or sign-in links. A change to access is complete only when a confirmed result shows it took effect.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Does a missing button mean I need to upgrade? No. First check the workspace, action, role and prerequisites. If the feature is included, ask the agent to inspect the mismatch before changing plans.
Can the agent work around my Viewer role? No. The role applies to agent actions too. Ask an owner or admin to change your role if you need to edit workspace data.
Where do I check the features in my workspace? Start with Settings → Billing and the feature article. For earlier plans or a contract-specific arrangement, ask the agent to check effective access first. Lightfield staff must verify agreement details that are not available in the workspace.
