Connect Claude to Lightfield

Connect Claude through MCP and fix connection problems.

Connect Claude to Lightfield through the Lightfield MCP server, and Claude can read and update your accounts, contacts, opportunities, meetings, tasks and notes from a normal Claude chat. You set it up in Claude, not in Lightfield Settings: Claude isn’t listed in Settings → Integrations or Connectors.

Every Lightfield plan, with a Claude organization or a personal Claude account. On a Claude Team or Enterprise organization, the Claude organization owner adds Lightfield first. Claude works with the same access your Lightfield user has, so it can’t see or change anything you couldn’t in Lightfield.

Claude can query your CRM, create and update records, draft emails and analyze the results using the capabilities available through the Lightfield MCP server. For example:

  • “Take this business card photo and create or update the matching contact in Lightfield.”
  • “Summarize the past 90 days of activity on my top 10 accounts and draft re-engagement emails for any that have gone quiet.”
  • “What did Acme say about pricing in our last three meetings? Draft a proposal email.”

You can combine Lightfield with other connectors in Claude, for example to pull leads from another tool and add them as contacts.

The Claude organization owner does this once:

  1. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Enter the server URL https://mcp.lightfield.app/mcp and a name, such as Lightfield.
  3. Save the connector.

Then each member connects:

  1. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Find Lightfield and click Connect.
  3. Sign in to Lightfield in the browser window that opens.

On Claude Free, Pro or Max, add Lightfield yourself:

  1. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Enter the server URL https://mcp.lightfield.app/mcp and a name, such as Lightfield.
  3. Save the connector, then sign in to Lightfield in the browser window that opens.

To check it works, ask Claude “What opportunities do I have in Lightfield that close this month?”

In a terminal, run:

Terminal window
claude mcp add --transport http lightfield https://mcp.lightfield.app/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, select lightfield, and complete the sign-in. Claude Code suits building your own integration or analyzing your CRM data with code.

Use MCP when you want to work with Lightfield through an AI assistant. Any other MCP client that supports the Streamable HTTP transport with OAuth 2.1 sign-in connects with the same server URL. To call Lightfield from your own code without an assistant, use API keys.

On a Claude organization, the organization owner hasn’t added Lightfield as a custom connector yet; ask them. On a personal account, add it yourself. Then look in Settings → Connectors in Claude.

Sign in to Lightfield in another browser tab, then try again. Claude connects to the Lightfield workspace you’re signed in to.

Claude sees only what your Lightfield user can see. Check that the record exists in Lightfield and that you can open it there.

For another AI client, follow the MCP quickstart. It covers the MCP URL, transport and verification; the API reference documents the underlying resources.

Can Claude see records I can’t see in Lightfield? No. Claude uses your own Lightfield access.

Does my Lightfield plan matter for connecting Claude? No. The Lightfield MCP server works on every plan.

Do I connect Claude in Lightfield Settings? No. You add Lightfield in Claude’s own settings; nothing in Lightfield Settings needs to change.
