Notifications

Choose which Lightfield alerts reach you in the app, by email or in Slack, and turn off the ones you don't need.

Notifications lets you choose, for each kind of alert, whether Lightfield tells you in the app, by email or in Slack. Your choices apply only to you.

Everyone, on every plan. Which sections you see depends on your role and plan; see What you see on Notifications. The agent can’t change your notification settings in chat, so make changes on this page.

Earlier plans can differ. Check your workspace’s available features.

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications.
  2. Find the alert’s row. Each row has up to three boxes, in this order:
    • Slack sends it as a Slack message. Until your Slack account is connected, these boxes show a dash. Follow the Slack connection instructions.
    • Email sends it by email.
    • In-app shows it under the Notifications bell in the header. Mark all as read clears the list.
  3. Tick or clear a box.

The change saves at once. If it doesn’t save, you see Failed to update notification preference. A dash instead of a box means that channel isn’t offered for that alert: Meeting daily digest and Agent notifications have no In-app box.

Sections appear in this order. Some depend on your role or plan, so you may see fewer.

SectionAlertsWho sees it

TasksDue date reminders, with a menu for how far ahead: 1h before, 4h before, 12h before or 24h before. Manual reminders for times you set on a task. Task assigned to you.Everyone except Viewers.
MeetingsMeeting ready for review: when a transcript has been processed and summarized.Everyone.
AutomationsAutomation run failed and Automation runs held. Each has a menu: Created by you or All automations.Owners and admins, on plans that include automations: Pro, Growth and Enterprise.
SequencesSequence failures, Sender health and Sequence replies.Plans that include sequences: Pro, Growth and Enterprise.
EmailsManual reminders for times you set on an email.Everyone except Viewers.
DigestsMeeting daily digest: a summary of your upcoming meetings.Everyone.
AgentsAgent notifications: when the chat agent or an automation sends you a notification.Everyone.
BillingUsage alerts and Spend alerts.Owners and admins, in workspaces that show Usage in Settings.

On Starter, the Sequences and Automations sections don’t appear because Starter doesn’t include those features. To get them, an admin changes the plan in Settings → Billing, or you can contact Lightfield. Until then, your other alerts work as listed.

Three alerts are rate-limited. Automation run failed and Sequence failures send at most once a day per automation or per sequence. Automation runs held tells you when a surge ends, then every day while runs are still waiting. A held run is one Lightfield set aside before it started, after a surge of triggers or once the daily limit was reached; see Runs and held runs.

Sender health tells you when a sequence sender can’t send, and again when it’s sending. To stop the emails:

  1. Open Settings → Notifications.
  2. In Sequences, find Sender health.
  3. Clear the Email box. Clear In-app and Slack too if you want none of them.

The Email box is cleared. Turning it off only silences the message. The sender still can’t send until its problem is fixed; see Replies and troubleshooting.

You get this alert if you own the sender, or if you own a sequence that uses it. Workspace admins don’t get it unless they are one of those. Senders that fail within the same 15 minutes share one alert.

Turn on Sequence replies under Sequences.

The alert goes to the member whose connected account sent the message the contact replied to: the sender’s mailbox owner for an email reply, or the LinkedIn account owner for a LinkedIn reply. It doesn’t go to the sequence’s owner or to admins unless they are that sender. You get one alert per contact, for their first reply. It names the contact and the step they replied to, and View reply opens the enrollment. Email and Slack alerts include a preview of the reply. The in-app one doesn’t.

  • Your role or plan doesn’t include it. Automations and Billing are for owners and admins, Tasks and Emails are hidden from Viewers, and Sequences needs a plan that includes sequences. See What you see on Notifications.
  • It isn’t turned on for your workspace. Billing appears only in workspaces that show Usage in Settings. Email support@lightfield.app to ask.

Check whether your Slack account is connected. Connect it in Settings → External apps. If your plan doesn’t show a Slack card there, use the Slack connection option in Settings → Notifications. Then tick the alerts you want. If you see Your workspace admin needs to connect Slack in Integrations first., an admin connects Slack for the workspace first. See Slack.

  • The alert is rate-limited. Automation run failed and Sequence failures send once a day per automation or sequence.
  • It only fires once. Sequence replies alerts on a contact’s first reply to an enrollment, and Sender health batches senders that fail within the same 15 minutes into one alert.

Sender health also reaches the owner of each affected sequence, so you get it for sequences you own even when someone else sends them. Sequence replies and Sequence failures go to the person who sends.

How do I stop the sender health emails? Clear the Email box on Sender health under Sequences in Settings → Notifications. The sender’s problem stays until you fix it.

Do I get notified when someone replies to my sequence? Yes, if Sequence replies is ticked. It goes to the member whose mailbox or LinkedIn account sent the message, once per contact.

Can I get alerts in Slack? Yes. Connect your Slack account, then tick the Slack box on each alert you want there.

Can I turn off all email from Lightfield? Yes, for these alerts. Clear the Email box on each row you see.
