External apps
Connect your own Slack, Microsoft Teams, Granola and LinkedIn accounts to Lightfield, and disconnect them when you need to.
External apps is where you connect your own accounts in other apps. Each connection belongs to you, not the workspace: it tells Lightfield who you are in Slack or Teams, syncs your own Granola notes, or syncs your LinkedIn DMs and lets sequences send from your LinkedIn account.
External apps is different from the two neighboring tabs. Integrations is where an admin connects an app for the whole workspace, and Connectors lets the agent look things up in other apps without syncing anything.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”Everyone sees External apps. Which apps it lists depends on your plan and role:
| App | What connecting your account does | Shown to |
|---|---|---|
| Granola | Syncs your own Granola transcripts and notes, including private notes, onto your Lightfield meetings. | Everyone, on every plan. |
| Syncs your LinkedIn DMs and, on plans with LinkedIn steps, lets sequences send from your account. | Owners, admins and members on every current plan. Sending LinkedIn steps in sequences requires Growth or Enterprise. | |
| Slack | Links your Slack account so Lightfield syncs the channels you can see, and lets you chat with the agent and get notifications in Slack. | Everyone, on plans that include Slack sync: Starter, Pro, Growth and Enterprise. Viewers can chat and get notifications, but nothing syncs. |
| Microsoft Teams | Links your Teams account so Lightfield syncs Teams messages you can see. | Owners, admins and members, on plans that include Microsoft Teams sync: Pro, Growth and Enterprise. |
To get an app your plan doesn’t include, an admin changes the plan in Settings → Billing, or you can contact Lightfield.
Earlier plans can differ. Check your workspace’s available features.
Connect Slack or Microsoft Teams
Section titled “Connect Slack or Microsoft Teams”An admin connects the workspace first. Then follow the instructions for your Slack account or your Teams account. Each article covers workspace setup, your connection and provider-specific errors.
Connect Granola
Section titled “Connect Granola”Follow Connect your own Granola account. That procedure covers the personal API key, back sync range and optional manual notes. Granola does not require a workspace connection first.
Private Granola content takes on the Lightfield meeting’s visibility when it syncs. Check the meeting’s audience before connecting.
Connect LinkedIn
Section titled “Connect LinkedIn”Follow Connect your LinkedIn account to choose your back sync range, message visibility and contacts to sync. The LinkedIn article also covers Google sign-in, existing sequence connections and reconnecting your account.
Disconnect an app
Section titled “Disconnect an app”Disconnecting stops new syncing from your account. Disconnecting LinkedIn also prevents sequences from sending LinkedIn steps from it until you reconnect.
- Go to Settings → External apps.
- On the app’s row, click Disconnect.
Lightfield stops syncing from your account. For LinkedIn, sequences can’t send LinkedIn steps from it until you connect it again. To connect again, click Connect or, on a disconnected row, Reconnect.

I don’t see LinkedIn or Microsoft Teams
Section titled “I don’t see LinkedIn or Microsoft Teams”Viewers can’t connect either app. Microsoft Teams also requires a plan with Teams sync. See Who can use it.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”Can I connect a teammate’s LinkedIn account? No. Each person connects their own account.
Do I need to connect Slack here if my admin already connected it? Yes. The admin’s connection covers the workspace; yours tells Lightfield who you are in Slack and which private channels you can see.
Does connecting Granola here change what the workspace sees? Yes. It adds your own notes, including private ones, to the meetings you’re on. They follow each meeting’s visibility, so teammates need access to the meeting’s full content to read them. Metadata-only access does not include notes; see Privacy and access.
What’s the difference between External apps and Connectors? External apps sync data from your accounts into Lightfield. Connectors let the agent search and act in other apps when you ask, without copying their data. See Connectors.
