Linear

Connect Linear so the agent can find and update issues, projects and comments.

Connect Linear and the Lightfield agent can find, create and manage Linear issues, projects and comments when you ask in chat, for example turning a customer request from a meeting into a Linear issue linked to the account. Linear is a connector: you connect it in Settings → Connectors, not Settings → Integrations.

Linear is on every plan, for owners, admins and members. Viewers don’t see Settings → Connectors. Each person connects their own Linear account, and the agent acts in Linear as that person, with their Linear permissions. If Linear isn’t listed in your Connectors, contact Lightfield.

Earlier plans can differ. Check your workspace’s available features.

  1. Go to Settings → Connectors and find Linear, or search for it.
  2. Click Connect. Linear’s sign-in page opens.
  3. Sign in to Linear if you aren’t already, review the access request, and click Authorize.

Linear returns you to Lightfield, and the connector shows Connected with the list of Linear Tools the agent can use. Lightfield connects through Linear’s own MCP connector with OAuth and never sees your Linear password.

Ask the agent to:

  • find issues, projects and comments
  • create an issue from a chat message, a meeting or a record
  • change an issue’s status, assignee or other fields
  • comment on an issue

Nothing from Linear is copied onto your records unless you ask the agent to add it, for example as a note on an account.

For example, open a customer account or meeting and ask:

Create a Linear issue in the Platform team for the CSV export timeout Acme raised on today’s call, and add a note to the Acme account linking to it.

Automations are on Pro, Growth and Enterprise, and admins create them.

  1. In Settings → Connectors, find your connected Linear connector.
  2. Turn on Use in workflows and automations.

An automation that uses your Linear connector uses your Linear account and its permissions. See Build an automation. For how connectors work in general, see Connectors.

Disconnecting removes Linear access from your chats and automations using this connection.

  1. In Settings → Connectors, open the more menu (…) next to Linear.
  2. Click Disconnect.

The agent can no longer read or change your Linear data. You can connect again at any time.

Your Linear access expired or was revoked. In Settings → Connectors, click Reconnect on Linear, then sign in and authorize again.

Does connecting Linear copy my issues into Lightfield? No. The agent looks up and changes issues in Linear when you ask. Nothing is stored on your records unless you ask for it.

Can my teammates use my Linear connection? No. Each person connects their own account. The exception is an automation that runs as you, once you turn on Use in workflows and automations.

Can the agent act in Linear projects I can’t access? No. It uses your Linear permissions.
