Linear integration

Connect Linear to Lightfield to find, create, and manage Linear issues, projects, and comments from the AI agent. Learn how to connect and use it.

The Linear integration connects your Linear workspace to Lightfield. After you connect it, the Lightfield AI agent can find, create, and manage Linear issues, projects, and comments for you, all from a chat message without leaving Lightfield.

The integration uses Linear’s official MCP connector. Lightfield connects to it with OAuth. Lightfield does not store your Linear password.

When Linear is connected, you can ask the Lightfield agent to:

  • Find issues, projects, and comments in Linear.
  • Create new issues from a chat message, a meeting, or a CRM record.
  • Update issue status, assignee, and other fields.
  • Add comments to issues.

The agent can use Linear together with your CRM data. For example, you can turn a customer request into a Linear issue and link it to the account.

  • You need a Lightfield account.
  • You need a Linear account with access to your team’s workspace.
  • Each person connects their own Linear account. The agent acts in Linear as the user who connected the account.
  1. Open Lightfield.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Open the Connectors tab.
  4. Find Linear in the list.
  5. Select Connect. Lightfield opens the Linear sign-in page.
  6. Sign in to Linear if you are not already signed in.
  7. Review the access request, then select Authorize.

Linear returns you to Lightfield. The Linear connector now shows the status Connected. Lightfield also shows the list of Linear tools that the agent can use.

You can let Lightfield use your Linear data inside workflows and automations.

  1. Go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Find the connected Linear connector.
  3. Turn on Use in workflows and automations.

When this setting is on, automations and workflows in your organization can create and update Linear issues automatically.

  1. Go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Find the Linear connector.
  3. Select the more menu () next to the connector.
  4. Select Disconnect.

After you disconnect, the agent can no longer read or change your Linear data. You can connect again at any time.

Sometimes a connector shows as disconnected. This usually happens when your Linear access expires or is revoked. To fix this:

  1. Go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Find the Linear connector.
  3. Select Reconnect.
  4. Sign in and authorize again.
