title: Connectors | Lightfield
description: Connect apps such as Notion, Linear or Stripe so Lightfield's agent can look things up and take actions in them for you.
---

Connectors let Lightfield’s agent reach into other apps you use. Once you connect an app, the agent can look up information there and take actions for you when you ask, such as finding a Notion page or creating a Linear issue. Connectors use MCP, an open standard for connecting AI assistants to apps.

Connectors don’t copy an app’s data into your CRM. To bring data in, use [External apps](/help/settings/external-apps/index.md) for your own accounts or [Integrations](/help/settings/integrations/index.md) for the workspace.

## Who can use it

Owners, admins and members, on every plan. Viewers don’t see **Connectors**. Each connection is yours: the agent uses it in your chats, with the access your account has in that app.

Available connectors include apps such as Notion, Linear, Granola and Stripe. Check **Search connectors** for the apps available in your workspace.

Earlier plans can differ. [Check your workspace’s available features](/help/missing-feature/index.md).

## Connect an app

1. Go to [Settings → Connectors](https://crm.lightfield.app/crm/settings/connectors/).
2. Find the app, or type its name in **Search connectors**.
3. Click **Connect**, then sign in to that app and allow Lightfield access. For an app that also takes an API key, a **Connect** dialog asks **How to connect**: pick **Sign in with** the app, or **Use an API key** and paste a key from that app.

The app shows **Connected**, with a **Tools** row listing what the agent can do there. Try it in chat: “Find the Notion page about our onboarding plan.”

Prefer an API key for Stripe. Stripe revokes signed-in access every 7 days, so you reconnect weekly; an API key stays connected until you revoke it. In Stripe, go to Developers → API keys and create a Restricted key with the Agent badge. Stripe is lookup only: the agent can read your Stripe data, but nothing syncs into your CRM.

## Let automations use a connector

Automations are on Pro, Growth and Enterprise, and admins create them. Enabling your connection for an automation does not change your Lightfield role.

To let automations use a connector as well as your chats:

1. Go to [Settings → Connectors](https://crm.lightfield.app/crm/settings/connectors/) and find the connected app.
2. Turn on **Use in workflows and automations**.

This lets your data from that app be used inside workflows and automations created in Lightfield. See [Build an automation](/help/automations/build-an-automation/index.md).

## Disconnect an app

Disconnecting removes access for your chats and any automations using this connection.

1. Go to [Settings → Connectors](https://crm.lightfield.app/crm/settings/connectors/) and find the app.
2. Click **Disconnect**.

The agent and any automations stop using it. To use it again, click **Connect**.

## Troubleshooting

### A connector shows This connector is disconnected

Your access to that app expired or was revoked, so Lightfield can’t use it. Click **Reconnect** in the banner and sign in again. For Stripe signed in through Stripe, this happens every 7 days; switch to an API key to stop it.

### The API key is rejected

You see a message such as **Stripe rejected this API key**. Check you copied the whole key and that it has the access the app needs, then paste it again. For Stripe, use a Restricted key with the Agent badge.

### I can’t find an app

Type its name in **Search connectors**. If it isn’t listed, your workspace doesn’t have it. Email <support@lightfield.app> to ask for it.

## Common questions

**Do connectors copy data into my CRM?** No. The agent reads and acts in the app when you ask. For data that should land on your records, use [External apps](/help/settings/external-apps/index.md) or [Integrations](/help/settings/integrations/index.md).

**Is the Granola connector the same as syncing Granola notes?** No. The connector lets the agent search your Granola notes when you ask. To attach Granola transcripts to your meetings, set up the sync; see [Granola](/help/settings/integrations/granola/index.md).

**Can I add notes from another notetaker to my meetings with a connector?** Yes, with an automation as well as the connector. See [Transcripts](/help/meetings/transcripts/index.md).

**Can teammates use my connectors?** Not in their chats; each person connects their own. With **Use in workflows and automations** on, your data from that app can be used in workflows and automations created in Lightfield.
