title: Signing in | Lightfield
description: Sign in to Lightfield with Google, single sign-on or an email link, see how multi-factor authentication applies, and fix sign-in problems.
---

Lightfield doesn’t use passwords. You sign in with Google, with your company’s single sign-on (SSO), or with a link sent to your email.

## Who can use it

Signing in with Google or an email link works on every plan and for every role. SSO is on Enterprise; see [SSO](/help/settings/security/sso/index.md).

Earlier plans can differ. [Check your workspace’s available features](/help/missing-feature/index.md).

Go to [crm.lightfield.app](https://crm.lightfield.app) and choose one of these:

| Method | How it works |
| ------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Continue with Google** | Google checks your identity and signs you in. |
| **Continue with SSO** | Enter your work email and sign in through your company’s identity provider. |
| Email link | Enter your work email and click the arrow. The screen shows **Check your inbox**. Open the link in the email to sign in. |

Use the same method every time. If your account was created with Google, sign in with Google; if it was created with an email link, use an email link. Another method shows a message asking you to sign in with your original one.

When it worked, Lightfield opens the page you last viewed, or [Up next](/help/up-next/index.md).

**Continue with Google** doesn’t appear in some in-app browsers, such as when you open a link from inside a social media app. Open the page in your regular browser instead.

Microsoft users sign in with SSO or an email link. **Continue with Microsoft** appears only later, when you connect an Outlook mailbox and calendar. See [Mail and Calendar](/help/settings/mail-and-calendar/index.md).

To see your signed-in devices or sign out of them, see [Security](/help/settings/security/index.md).

## Multi-factor authentication

Because Lightfield has no passwords, multi-factor authentication (MFA) comes from the account you sign in with:

- **Google** and **SSO** sign-ins use the MFA you or your company enforce on those accounts. To require MFA for your team, turn it on in Google Workspace or your identity provider.
- **Email links** prove that you control your inbox at that moment, so protect your email account with MFA.

For many security frameworks, this meets the intent of MFA requirements: Lightfield verifies your identity through a trusted channel before granting access.

If your organization needs specific MFA controls, or documentation for a security review, email <support@lightfield.app> with the requirement and Lightfield maps it to how sign-in works. For Lightfield’s security program, see [Security](/security/index.md).

## Troubleshooting

### I signed in with the wrong Google account

You picked a Google account other than the one your invitation was sent to. To switch:

1. Open your profile menu and click **Log out**.
2. Click **Continue with Google** and pick the account your invitation went to.

### Lightfield says my account was created with a different sign-in method

You see **Your Lightfield account was created using a Google account. Please sign in again using that method.** or a similar message for email. You chose a different method from the one your account was created with. Sign in again with the original method.

### The page says “That log in link has expired.”

Email links work once and expire after a short time. Go back to the sign-in page and request a new link. If you requested more than one, use the most recent email.

Some email security tools and browser extensions open a link a second time after you click it. In a browser, if you’re already signed in when a used link opens again, Lightfield keeps your session and takes you into the app.

### The sign-in email didn’t arrive

Check your spam or junk folder, and confirm you typed your work email correctly. On the **Check your inbox** screen, click **Resend email** to get a new link.

### The page says “That email is not configured for SSO.”

Your email isn’t set up for SSO in Lightfield. Sign in with **Continue with Google** or an email link, or ask your admin. See [SSO](/help/settings/security/sso/index.md).

### The page says “Sorry, your account appears to be deactivated.”

An owner or admin deactivated your account. Ask them to reactivate it in [Settings → Members](https://crm.lightfield.app/crm/settings/members). If you think it’s a mistake, email <support@lightfield.app>.

### The page says “Oops! This invitation has expired.”

Invitations expire after 7 days. Ask an owner or admin to resend it. See [Members](/help/settings/members/index.md).

### I’m still locked out

Email <support@lightfield.app> with your email address and your workspace name or URL.

## Common questions

**Does Lightfield have passwords?** No. You sign in with Google, SSO or an email link.

**Does Lightfield support multi-factor authentication?** Yes, through the account you sign in with. Google and SSO sign-ins use the MFA enforced there, and email links rely on the protections on your email account.

**Can I sign in with SSO on any plan?** No. SSO is on Enterprise. On other plans, sign in with Google or an email link. See [SSO](/help/settings/security/sso/index.md).

**Can I sign in with Microsoft?** Not directly. Use SSO or an email link with your Microsoft work email. **Continue with Microsoft** is for connecting an Outlook mailbox and calendar after you sign in.
